About Us
Greg Althouse began the company in 1987 as a one
person carpet and upholstery cleaning company for El
Paso and Las Cruces. Today water extraction and fire
damage restoration requires much of the
company's time and effort.
Althouse Cleaning is dedicated to the finest customer
service and continued professioanal improvement. To this end,
nearly every employee has attended IICRC training or is
scheduled to do so. Over half of them already have multiple
IICRC certifications.

Greg Althouse
is active in the community and serves in various
capacities at Harvest Christian Center. He served as a
weather analyst aboard a U.S. Navy aircraft
carrier. Greg earned his Bachelor of
Business Management degree at Parks College, Fort
bliss campus.
Greg
is an IICRC
certified Senior Practicing Flooring Inspector and is
also certified by the National Wood (NWFA). His
inspections take him as far as Albuquerque with clients
ranging from local carpet
shops to Shaw Industries, the world's largest carpet
manufacturer. He has earned 12 different certifications
from the IICRC, several at the Master or Journeyman
levels.
Althouse Cleaning constantly seeks better
techniques and equipment to provide the best
possible results for their clients.
Althouse Cleaning, Inc. trucks carry
industrial cleaning machines (hot water extraction) to
clean carpet, tile and grout, upholstery, and air ducts.
These machines provide high power suction perfect for
extracting water in a flooded home or
business. Pressure washer guns connected to the
truckmounted machines are used to strip soot from
masonry and oil from driveways.
Althouse has extensive drying
equipment to dry your carpet, hardwood
floors, inside your walls and under
your cabinets. Motorized and hand held “top down
drying” equipment extracts
water from carpets without removing pad. Traditional carpet
and pad removal is available when
required.
Althouse Cleaning specializes in
removing pet odors from carpet for so lonag that it's
on of their logo.
Althouse facilities include areas to clean, ozone
(neutralize smoke odor) and store contents after fires.
Computerized inventory with photos allows easy retrieval
and reduces the insurance company’s liability. In the
field, smoke & fire technicians remove toxin-laden soot
from buildings using IICRC
approved techniques, equipment and cleaning
solutions.
Althouse Cleaning Inc. and many of its
individual technicians are certified by the Institute of
Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration (IICRC), a non-profit
certification and standards organization. After extensive
initial training, technicians must attend continuing
education courses to retain their certifications. Our
technicians undergo additional weekly training
on interacting with stressed clients in an empathetic
and professional manner.
